Fifteen area young women competed for the 2011 Miss HerrinFesta Italiana crown at the Herrin Civic Center on Monday night. Hosted by River Radio’s Steve Falat and Andrea Mays, Miss HerrinFesta Italiana 2010, the pageant awards the areas largest scholarship awards, totalling over $5,000.
At the end of the night, Marion’s Chelsye Vincent was crowned Miss HerrinFesta 2011 and will receive a $3,000 cash scholarship, the Queen’s Crown, Queen’s Sash, and Queen’s Boquet. HerrinFesta would like to thank Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home, Rubright Spinal Rehabilitation Center, Family Drugs, Logan Primary Pharmacy, and Center for Medical Arts Pharmacy, in addition to Egypt Trophy, Nancy Spiller, and Les Marie Florist for making the awards possible.
First runner up went to Chandler Short of Marion. Chandler will receive an $800 cash scholarship and a trophy.
Second runner up went to Jenna Harner of Dongola. Jenna will receive a $600 cash scholarship and a trophy.
Third runner up went to Mycah Hudson of Carterville. Mycah will receive a $400 cash scholarship and a trophy.
Forth runner up went to Kate Winzenburger of Cobden. Kate will receive a $200 cash scholarship and a trophy.
Chandler Short was named most photogenic, and will receive a trophy.
HerrinFesta would like to thank Vicki Colombo, Ken Taylor, Jeanita Spillman, Mike Monchino, and Gary Metro for judging the competition; and Lisa Lukens for auditing.
