At the 2010 HerrinFesta Italiana Scholarship Pageant, Andrea Mays was crowned Queen. Mays, a native of Cobden, was sponsored by SIU Credit Union. She is 23 years old and the daughter of Ron & Shelly Mays.
Mays was presented with the 2010 Miss HerrinFesta trophy from Egypt Trophy in Herrin, who also provided her with the Queen’s Crown. The Queen’s Boquet from Les Marie Florist in Herrin, and the Queen’s Sash from Nancy Spiller of Marion were also presented to Mays. She will receive a $3,000 scholarship underwritten by Johnson-Huges Funeral Home in partnership with Rubright Spinal Rehabilitation Center, Family Drugs in Carterville, Logan Primary Pharmacy in Herrin, and Center for Medical Arts Pharmacy in Carbondale.
First Runner-up, Rachel Brock, will receive an $800 scholarship, and a trophy.
Second Runner-up, Kayla Barkau, will receive a $600 scholarship, and a trophy.
Third Runner-up, Paige Higgerson, will receive a $400 scholarship and trophy.
Fifth runner-up, Chelsye Vincent, will receive a $200 scholarship and trophy.
Jenna Harner won the photogenic competition.
Meridith Ashe, Ben Maragani, Edan Schultz, Wendy Harper, Janet Jensen, and Lisa Lukens served as judges for the competition.
